How to Stage Your Home to Sell


 

HERE ARE 10 TIPS THAT WILL HELP YOU STAGE YOUR HOME TO SELL.
REMEMBER, YOU CAN MAKE A FIRST IMPRESSION “ONLY ONCE
”!

  • Remove all clutter.
  • Clean all corner, cracks and crevices.
  • Mow & trim lawn, (Pick up leafs in the Fall and Winter). Edge and trim shrubs,
    and trim low tree limbs. De-weed flowerbeds & trim fence lines.
  • Replace and rotted fascia boards, soffit or siding on main or secondary structures.
  • There should be no rotted wood anywhere on the property.
  • Appearance of exterior should look fresh and clean as if it were just painted.
  • All flooring, counter tops, walls, ceilings should be recently up-dated or at least
    sparkling clean. Remove clutter!
  • If pets reside in your house be sure the smell is not evident.
  • If a smoker resides in your house, all smoke odor should be eliminated completely.
  • Replace all light bulbs that have burned out with new bulbs, including fixtures in closets.
  • Dark rooms should be lit properly; if natural lighting is available, window covering should be opened. All lights in the home should be turned on.
  • Less is more! Remove extra vehicles; clean out garage; organize closets and storage areas. Remember you are moving, so things stored neatly in boxes in the garage or storage are acceptable.

WHEN SHOWING YOUR HOME, DO NOT SUFFOCATE A PROSPECTIVE BUYER. ALLOW THEM THE FREEDOM TO FEEL COMFORTABLE IN THE PROPERTY. DO NOT MAKE THEM FEEL AS IF THEY ARE INTRUDING. TURN OFF TV AND HAVE OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS LEAVE FOR A SHORT TIME. TO JUDGE HOW A BUYER WILL SEE YOUR PROPERTY STAND OUT IN THE STREET AND CRITIQUE YOUR “CURB APPEAL
